Day 1: Calama & San Pedro de Atacama

Day 1: Calama & San Pedro de Atacama

On the first day, you will be picked up by our driver at the Calama airportand travel to the historic town of San Pedro de Atacama.
During the hour-long crossing of Atacama Desert, you will see wind-sculpted saltstructures, hills of changing light/color depending on the time of day, therising Andes and Domeyko mountain ranges and crisp blue skies.
Upon arrival to San Pedro, your driver will leave you at the hotel and the followingcheck-in, you'll have free time to explore the cultural beauty of thisspecial place and in the evening, enjoy the unique and spectacular nightsky.

After breakfast at 8 am, our journey begins heading towards the Chaxalagoon, which is in the middle of the Atacama Salar in the National Reserve"Los Flamencos". Here you can see the small and big Parina, and Chilean Flamenco whose pink color contrasts with the bright-white of the saltcrystals and deep blue color of the water.
Afterward a stop for lunch in Socaire, a humble hillside village famous for their simple homes withoutwindows or terraces.
After lunch, the tour will continue towards the Altiplano lagoons of Miscanti and Miñiques at 4,200m/13,779ft. elevation. Surrounded by towering volcanoes you can observe a variety of Altiplanobirds, flamencos, foxes, vicunas.Finally, we'll visit the town of Toconao, an oasis with ideal climaticconditions for the cultivation of native fruits and vegetables, visit thechurch declared a national monument and shop the local handicraft.

Day 3: Tatio Geysers, Machuca Village & Moon Valley

Day 3: Tatio Geysers, Machuca Village & Moon Valley

This day we will visit the famous Tatio Geysers, considered the highest inthe world at 4,320m/14,173ft.
Please Note: Pick-up at the hotel will be at 05:00 AM as the early morning hours afford the best opportunity to view the geysers in full glory and to best appreciate the unique early morning desertlight.  Breakfast will be provided on-site to take full advantage of thisnatural wonder. Optionally, you can take a relaxing bath in a rustic pool ofwarm water in this completely natural environment.
On our return to San Pedro, we will stop in the village of Machuca, where people have bred llamasand collect Llareta (flowering plant, family Apiaceae) for generations andthe drop - off will be at 11:30 am approx.
After lunch at 4 pm, we will travel 13km East to the Valley of the Moon, anatural sanctuary whose landscape resembles the Moon with a variety ofcraters and wind-sculptured rock formations. This Valley is of hauntingbeauty which will make you wonder if you are still on planet Earth. Afterwitnessing one of the most beautiful sunsets on the planet with a tastingcheese & wine, we return to the hotel at 7 pm.

Day 4: San Pedro de Atacama to Calama

Last day in the Atacama plateau.
Depending on the flight departure times,you will have time to explore San Pedro including Le Paige Archeological Museum, local church, Inca House (oldest structure in San Pedro),sandboarding or trekking on the surrounding dunes. Four kilometers away isthe Pukara fortress which dates from the twelfth century. These are onlysome of the amazing attractions of San Pedro de Atacama.
At a pre-arranged hour, your driver will pick you up at the hotel and takeyou to the Calama Airport for the return flight to Santiago
