Day 4: Buenos Aires

Day 4: Buenos Aires

Breakfast and full day experience on the "Fiesta Gaucha".
The "gaucho" is the representative of the Pampa Argentina. He is well-known because of his physical characteristics, his pride, his melancholy and quietness. The "Pampa" also brought us his poets, the same ones who have written about their lifestyle, like in this fragment of "Campo Nuestro", by Oliverio Girondo. Our tour to the Santa Susana Ranch begins with all travellers being picked up from their hotels. From there, we'll head out of the city towards Los Cardales (a Buenos Aires province) with our guides and a striking panoramic view as we make our way along to the Argentine ranch. Upon arrival, we'll be welcomed with some traditional meat empanadas, Argentinian wine and soft drinks. Our guides will take us to see some of the most interesting parts of Santa Susana, its old-fashioned museum and beautiful church. You'll then have the chance to ride in a horse-drawn carriage and explore the fields around the ranch. After our tour of the ranch it'll be time for lunch! Santa Susana cooks up a delicious 3-course meal (included in the price of the tour):Starter: chorizo and morcillaMain: lomo (tenderloin), bife de chorizo (sirloin)Side salad: lettuce, tomato and onion OR carrot and beetroot OR pepper andcabbage OR potato and eggDrinks: red and white wine, soft drinks, water, coffee. While you're eating your lunch we'll keep you entertained with a tango show and some traditional gaucho music and dance, which you'll of course be invited to join. You'll also get to see an incredible boleadoras show, in which gauchos throw traditional weapons. After lunch we'll begin with the proper entertainment, where the gauchos will show off some of their unique skills. To begin with, you'll see them racing in a traditional sortija fashion, then expertly herding the animals and finally taking part in a cuadreras race; a typical gaucho competition. To bring this unique experience to a close in the evening, you'll be served the traditional Argentine mate, a herbal tea, and pastelitos, little pastries. We'll then drop you back off at your hotel after an exciting and adventurous day.
